مقدمه

مرور نوشتارها حاكي از آن است كه به احتمال قريب به يقين عبارت «وب نامرئي» نخستين بار درسال 1994 توسط «ژيل السورث»ابداع شده است. البته معدودي از منابع نيز شخص ديگري به نام «متيوكل» را به عنوان مبدع اين اصطلاح معرفي مي‌كنند.

در خصوص وب نامرئي كلماتي نظير وب پنهان،‌ وب عميق، وب تاريك، به طور مترادف در متون مختلف به كار برده شده‌اند. اما اين‌ها در حقيقت معادل يكديگر نيستند و هر يك به جنبه‌اي از نامرئي بودن اشاره مي‌كنند

وب نامرئي

يكي از اصطلاحاتي كه اخيرا از آن ياد ميشود وب نامرئي يا invisible web  است كه البته اسم ديگرش deep وب هست. صفحات اينترنتي اي كه ما به طور عادي مي بينيم، وب سطحي نام دارند. افراد قبل از هر مرجع ديگري از وب براي جستجوي تحقيقاتشان استفاده مي كنند. اما موتورهاي جستجو لزوما بهترين نتايج را نمايش نمي دهند. آنها اطلاعات مخفي يا عميق موجود در اينترنت را نمايش نمي دهند.

وب ژرف چيست؟

اصطلاح وب نامرئي يا وب “ژرف” به مخزن عظيمي از اطلاعات اطلاق مي شود كه موتورهاي جستجو به آنها دسترسي مستقيم ندارند به طور مثال پايگاه داده كتابخانه هاي دانشگاهها، سايتهايي كه براي مشاهده آنها نياز به رمز عبور داريم و سايتهايي كه به هر دليل، موتورهاي جستجو از فهرست بندي آنها، منع شده اند. بر خلاف صفحات قابل مشاهده (يعني همين وبي كه مي توانيد توسط موتورهاي جستجو ببينيد) اطلاعاتي در پايگاههاي داده موجود است كه اسپايدرها و رباتهاي خزنده بدانها دسترسي ندارند.
بعنوان نمونه، اغلب مردم گوگل را بعنوان دارنده بزرگترين پايگاه داده جستجو تصور مي كنند كه حدودا ۸ بيليون صفحه را فهرست بندي كرده است. اين رقم بزرگ است ولي اگر وب مخفي را در نظر بگيريم اين رقم را بايستي در ۵۰۰ ضرب كنيم. بعلاوه گوگل فقط صفحات قابل جستجو را كه حدودا ۲۵۰ بيليون است ذخيره كرده است ولي از رقم دقيق صفحات غير قابل جستجو خبري نيست
